Super NIT: Curve loses 3 - 1 in QF to # 14 in Nation (Bulldog Baseball)

The Miami Curve traveled to Georgia to play in the first National Mega tournament of the year, featuring 10 of the top nationally ranked teams of travelballselect.  Everyone involved in youth league baseball realized that this Super NIT offered the most competition of any tournament of the year anywhere.  Our biggest win of the year was beating the # 10 team in the nation (N. Georgia Bombers, whom were Georgia state and National champions last year and are currently considered the #1 team in the state of Georgia. Other wins against top teams here were also very satisfying.  The 12 hour bus ride was well worth the sacrifice made by all in order to be recognized as one of the top 12 U baseball programs in the nation.  Our program will certainly be moving up in the rankings as we head to arguably an even tougher tournament in the battle of the South in Tennessee next month.

The Tournament was in Georgia as we competed against many of the best teams in the nation.  We beat the 10 ranked team in the nation as well as some of the other teams that are currently mentioned as the top teams in the nation by travelballselect.com.  We lost two games by a total of three runs to two of the premier teams in the country.  This tournament has proven that we can play with the best teams in the country.  Our pitching and defense were fantastic as we made only one infield error the entire tournament.  This was a great tune up for the next big tourney, the Battle in the South in Tennessee as the Miami Curve continues to make a name for itself on a National stage.  Congrats to all of the players and parents whom made a great sacrifice to attend this tourney in Atlanta.
