Don Blair played high school baseball locally in Miami.  Playing Shortstop for Southwest and Sunset High School, starting varsity as a sophomore at Southwest high school at second base and hitting .389 as a sophomore and leading the varsity team in hits and stolen bases. The team went on to win the GMAC championship by beating Southridge High School and he was selected to the All Dade County third team. 

His junior and senior years, he was moved to shortstop and hit over .400 in each year culminating in making first team All Dade County and All State teams his senior year and being selected to play in the Parade Magazine All American game.  He earned a baseball scholarship to Miami Dade Community College where he played on a nationally ranked team with the likes of John Cangelosi and Odibee McDowell and many other that played semi pro ball.  He continued to play shortstop at the University and hit .323 his junior year and .414 his senior year. 

He was selected to play for Athletes in Action and participated in the Pan Games the summer of his junior year in college.  He went on and played a few years of semi pro ball and ended his baseball career in 1992. 
He provided batting instructions to many players on a one on one basis over the years and finally when his first born, Bryan was old enough he began to coach and has been coaching ever since.  Don is married to Marisela and they have two children, Bryan and Justin.
